Dr. Bryan Whitecotton knew in high school that he wanted to become an orthodontist, and from that time on, he fully dedicated himself to pursuing that dream. After graduating from Northside Christian Academy in Charlotte, he attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, graduating with honors. After dental school, he had the opportunity to continue his education in Chapel Hill, completing a three-year residency at one of the premiere orthodontic programs in the world.
Dr. Whitecotton was born in Illinois and moved to Charlotte at the age of 16. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Katelyn, who was born and raised in the Queen City. They are members of Real Life Church and are the proud parents of a daughter Chapel, two sons, Lincoln and Lawson, a miniature dachshund Lily, and two Siberian cats, Bob and Rosie. Family is central to Dr. Whitecotton’s approach to life, which extends to his belief that caring and compassion for his patient “family” are cornerstones of exceptional orthodontic care.
Dr. Whitecotton has been an avid athlete his entire life, having played football, basketball, baseball, and golf competitively. He has now transitioned to coaching, volunteering as a youth basketball head coach at Sally’s YMCA, which he hopes to continue to do for years to come. As one might surmise, Dr. Whitecotton is a HUGE Tar Heels fan, and if the Heels are playing, you can bet he’s watching!
